Our on-line cell counter prototype for real-time bioreactor monitoring is performing very well.

Last week our cuting edge technology has successfully monitored a 1 liter CHO cell culture bioreactor.

The NORMA Wave device is automatically and in real time measuring the concentration and viability of the cells in the bioreactor. The instruments is aseptically connected to the culture vessel for imaging directly the bioreactor media and cells. It constantly takes picture of the cells to automatically count the number of viable and dead cells and therefore determine the viable cell density and viability.

Amazing, the VCD and viability matches with our off-line trypan blue cell counter…

We are very proud of this achievement that certainly marks a significant step toward the future bioreactor process control.

Afin de placer la France en tant que première nation européenne innovante en santé, le gouvernement a annoncé la sortie du 4^ème Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir (PIA 4) intégré au plan France Relance. Celui-ci prévoit 800M€ pour le développement des biothérapies et des médicaments de thérapies innovantes, permettant ainsi de renforcer la compétitivité et le développement de la bioproduction française. Ce projet « Innovation santé 2030 », comprend une stratégie d’accélération et de relance de la recherche et développement et du tissu industriel français, afin de ne plus dépendre des biothérapies étrangères. 

Les premiers lauréats de l’Appel à Projet (AAP) du Grand Défi Biomédicaments annoncés

A la suite de ces annonces, les premières actions de la stratégie ont été définies avec notamment l’appel à projets (AAP) du Grand Défi Biomédicaments. Un des axes de cet AAP vise à développer des projets innovants et un écosystème d’acteurs privés et publics afin de développer de nouveaux capteurs intégrés aux systèmes de bioproduction. L’objectif est alors de procurer aux industries de santé des outils permettant d’augmenter « la sécurité, la sureté, les rendements, la robustesse et la qualité des procédés mis en œuvre pour la production de biomédicaments ». C’est dans ce contexte que la société IPRASENSE a été sélectionnée pour le projet SELPHi. Avec un montant d’aide s’élevant à 1,6M€, ce projet permettra de développer et industrialiser une nouvelle génération de capteurs à base d’imagerie holographique. Ceux-ci offriront une amélioration des rendements de production grâce au suivi des états cellulaires en temps réel, sans marquage des cellules, au cœur des bioréacteurs responsables de la production d’anticorps thérapeutiques, de vaccins ou encore de cellules immunitaires.

We are all currently fighting the Coronavirus epidemic around the world. All means are implemented to obtain rapid results, especially on the establishment of a potential treatment.
The need is immediate and urgent. At IPRASENSE, we are proud to contribute, at our level, to the COVID-19 fight. Our CYTONOTE has been recently selected by research institutes including the CDC in China, on a COVID-19 research program. The scientists were particularly attracted by the ease of use of this live cell-imaging system in BSL3 laboratories difficult handling conditions. It is so simple to install and to use remotely, you just have to place your flask, petri dishes or well plate on the CYTONOTE in your incubator and follow your cell culture in real time from your computer outside the Lab environment. The CYTONOTE thus saves considerable time and increases safety.
This doesn’t help to the current disaster but we hope the biologists will obtain good results for a better understanding of the disease and treatment.

Discovery of a new biological rhythm

By carrying out dry mass measurements on different types of human cells, IRIG researchers in collaboration with CEA-Leti have demonstrated the existence of a new biological rhythm lasting 4 hours and manifesting itself between two cell divisions. These results contribute to the current understanding of ultradian biological clocks and could potentially have strong implications in the field of health.
